Website Care & Maintenance Plan

Updates, off-site backups, uptime and security monitoring, and time for small changes every month, so your website stays secure, fast and current.

A website is not something you build once and forget. WordPress core, themes and plugins release updates regularly, security threats keep evolving and content needs refreshing. Our Website Care & Maintenance Plan takes care of all of it for a fixed monthly fee, so your site stays secure, fast and up to date while you focus on running your business.

Who it is for#

  • Business owners who do not have the time or the inclination to manage updates and backups.
  • WordPress and WooCommerce sites where an untested update could break a checkout or a contact form.
  • Teams without an in-house developer who need someone reliable to call on for small changes.
  • Clients of ours after launch, as well as owners of sites built by others, subject to an onboarding review.

What is included#

  • Software updates: WordPress core, themes and plugins updated regularly, tested on staging first for significant releases.
  • Off-site backups: daily automated backups stored separately from your hosting, with restore support if something goes wrong.
  • Uptime monitoring: we are alerted if your site goes down and investigate promptly.
  • Security monitoring: malware scanning, login protection and review of security notices for the software you use.
  • Performance checks: periodic monitoring of page speed and Core Web Vitals so regressions are caught early.
  • Small changes: up to one hour each month for content edits, small design tweaks or minor fixes.
  • Priority support by email for plan clients.
  • Monthly summary of updates applied, backups, uptime and any issues resolved.

How it works and timeline#

The plan normally starts within five business days of sign-up.

  1. Onboarding review: we check the site’s software versions, plugins, hosting, existing backups and any obvious security or performance issues.
  2. Setup: we configure backups, monitoring and a staging environment where your hosting allows.
  3. Ongoing care: updates, monitoring and small changes happen every month.
  4. Monthly report: you receive a short summary of what we did and anything that needs your attention.

If the onboarding review finds a serious problem, such as heavily outdated software or signs of compromise, we explain what we found and quote for fixing it before the regular plan begins.

What we need from you#

  • Administrator access to your website.
  • Access to your hosting control panel, or contact with your host.
  • Details of any premium plugins or licences, so updates can be applied.
  • A main contact for approvals and change requests.

Optional add-ons#

Quoted individually:

  • Additional development time for larger changes or new features.
  • Content updates and publishing on a regular schedule.
  • Quarterly performance and SEO reviews, building on our Performance & Technical SEO Audit.
  • Hosting migration to a faster or more suitable provider.
  • WooCommerce-specific checks, such as test orders after updates.

Why ongoing care matters#

Many website security problems come from outdated software and weak configuration, not from sophisticated attacks. Regular updates, good backups and someone keeping watch remove a large part of that risk. Just as importantly, they mean that if something does go wrong, you have a quick path back to a working site.

Can you look after a website you did not build?

Yes. Before we start, we carry out a short onboarding review to check the site's condition, plugins and hosting. If we find serious issues, we will explain them and suggest how to fix them before the plan begins.

What happens to unused change time?

The monthly allowance for small changes is designed for regular tweaks and does not roll over. If you need more time in a given month, we can quote larger changes separately.

Can I cancel the plan?

Yes. The plan is billed monthly and you can cancel with notice as set out in our terms and conditions. Your site, backups and accounts remain yours.
